In 2015 I started work on a system of nutrition that would heal people and the planet. My motivation was broad, but specifically I needed to find a way to heal my husband (Thomas) who had been diagnosed with and heavily medicated for Junior Rheumatoid/Idiopathic Arthritis since the age of 12. At age 26 he lost access to his medications and the challenge was on. Just over two years later and he is in remission so long as we maintain a very restrictive routine that we call the Sapient Diet. My mission now is to make the food we can eat as sustainably sourced and freakin' delicious as we possibly can!
So I am now embarking on the new phase of my journey with these new goals in mind. There are a lot of ideas, but the main one is to host and broadcast sustainable food focused parties. I hope to collaborate with humans from every aspect of the food industry (from farm to table) to create these gatherings. Whether I am sources great ingredients, working with chefs to come up with mouth watering recipes or partnering with organizations to fund and promote my work I am looking forward to the entire process. This is just the very beginning of my sustainable events journey and I am so excited to be on my way!
